The 37cm high robot is constructed of 17 digital servos which enable it to perform human-like movements once programmed. Kim's KHR-1 needed only minor supervision during its pre-programmed forward, backwards, and sideways movements. It also successfully completed a backwards lay-down/stand-up, and a forwards lay-down/standup movements. The group showed a lot of interested in the construction and dynamics of the KHR-1. Kim also demonstrated the small Khepera robot made by K-Team, and showed the robot performing a simple Braitenburg object-avoidance algorithm.
