The KHR-2HV humanoid robot is an exciting, new robot from Kondo of Japan. It is 34cm tall and weighs approximately 1.2kg. The KHR-2HV is driven by 19 servos that provide 19 degrees of freedom (DOF).
With 19 DOFs, the KHR-2HV has a remarkable range of motions. Some examples are:

* back sumersaults
* push ups
* step climbing
* martial arts
* running
* forward somersaults
* cartwheels
* football (soccer)
* dancing
The KHR-2HV has a serial to USB interface that provides a connection to a host computer. The host can be used for target motion editing using the supplied software application or to execute any user-developed, higher-level application. Between the wonderful motion capabilities of this robot, along with the PC interface, the KHR-2HV provides an excellent, relatively inexpensive research platform.
