The SkewlZone™ “Brain” is a SkewlZone supported Linux 2.6 Single Board Computer (SBC) that provides sufficient computational performance to integrate the SkewlZone and target robot sensory input streams with the programmed behaviors and goals to attain reasonable robot autonomy. The most critical function of the “Brain” is to generate the appropriate, real-time control signals to either the robot's controller board or directly to the end effectors for active dynamics. The SBC has a range of peripheral I/O to support the various electrical and messaging formats of the sensors, effectors, and modules of the legged robot.
