PID control of CoroWare CoroBot

Question:

I find that when I enable the PID controller in the CoroBot module inside RoboRealm that my CoroBot starts moving around in ways that I don't understand. It seems like PID control is broken. What is wrong?

Answer:

The problem probably doesn't lie with the PID controler (circled in green), but likely with the encoder settings (circled in blue). Try playing with the Switch Left/Right and Invert checkboxes for the encoders. The encoder hardware isn't always consistent between robots.
